emergency first response
Continued Education
increase your confidence and prepardness in handling medical emergencies.
If you are looking for a way to enhance your first aid skills and prepare yourself for a multitude of emergency situations, then you should consider taking our EFR Primary and Secondary Care course. At Hydra Diving we offer this course with the option of completing some additional elements, namely, care for children, and the use of an AED.
The EFR Primary and Secondary Care course will teach you how to perform CPR and first aid for life-threatening injuries and illnesses, such as cardiac arrest, severe bleeding, shock, broken bones and spinal injuries. You will learn how to assess the scene, carry out CPR, use a first aid kit, apply bandages and splints, and collect vital medical information to pass on to emergency services.
The course will begin with some eLearning, skill books and an exam for both Primary and secondary care. Once these are complete you will practice your skills in an assessed environment and receive feedback from your instructor. You will come away from this course with a new found confidence in handling medical emergencies. These skills are critical and if the unfortunate situation ever arises where you need to utilise them, it could be the difference needed to save a life or prevent serious lifechanging injuries.
The EFR Primary and Secondary Care course (or an equivalent) is a prerequisite for the Rescue Diver, Divemaster, or Instructor courses, so if you are planning to advance your diving career, this is a great opportunity to do so. You can also choose to add the EFR - Care for Children and EFR - AED courses, which will teach you how to provide emergency care for children and infants, and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
